Mimi Barnes is a Loan Officer/Assistant V.P. at Peoples Bank of Kankakee County with over a decade in mortgage lending. Prior to being a mortgage lender, Mimi was a realtor in the area and active with the Kankakee Association of Realtors. She served as President of the Kankakee Iroquois Ford Association of Realtors KIFAR in 2003; Treasurer of the Homebuilders Association of Kankakee in 2009; and was named the 2010 KIFAR Affiliate of the Year. Mimi is also active in several community organizations. Mimi has been on the WIN board for two years.
Mary Thomson, Volunteer Liaison at Hospice of Kankakee Valley; founding member of WIN; loves dancing, gardening, golf, music, photography, theatre, community volunteering, etc.; proud to be Athena recipient in 95, UW Woman of the year in 15; runner up to YES Magazine Woman of the Year in 15, Daily Journal Senior Citizen of the year in 13. Past careers include high school teacher, community college advisor, hospital sales/marketing/community/public relations/volunteer management and business banker/travel organizer for area bank.
JoAnne Keen along with her husband Mark, own and operate Frank’s Appliance Center & Sleepsource in Bradley and Manteno. JoAnne has been a part of the WIN board since 2012. JoAnne states “My favorite hobby is traveling. If I’m not at a meeting hopefully it means I’m exploring a new destination.”
Melissa Tanner has worked in the marketing/PR field for over 20 years. Melissa received the International Young Athena Award in 2009. She is also a board member for Kankakee Valley Theater Association and active in several community organizations. Melissa has been on the WIN board for two years. She enjoys reading, traveling & spending time with her family.
Jan is the Business and Marketing Manager for Harvest View Senior Living. She is also the owner/ director of Art Start Studio, that she founded in 1997. She is the immediate past Director and current Board Member for the Gretchen Charlton Art Gallery in Kankakee. Jan is also an active artist and has been recognized locally, regionally and nationally. She is an inductee into “Who’s Who Among America’s Women Professionals and Entrepreneurs”. She also volunteers for many other community organizations. Jan has been a WIN member and Board Member for 2 years.
Rhonda Olechowski is Director of Business Development at the Daily Journal working in Display Advertising in downtown Kankakee working with customers to achieve their advertising goals. Prior to working at the Daily Journal Rhonda had worked ten years with Bunge Oils and ten years in the banking industry. Rhonda is originally from Bay City, Michigan, and has lived in Bourbonnais for the last 25 years. In addition to her professional and family obligations, Rhonda has served on the original board of the Women in Networking group since it’s inception. Rhonda is a member of the Kankakee County Republican Women, member of the Kankakee County Museum and Presence St Mary’s Auxiliary and attends St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. When Rhonda is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She resides in Bourbonnais with Kevin, her husband of 25 years.
Andrea Edwards is the Branch Manager AVP at First American Bank. Andrea has worked for First American Bank for five years at the Kankakee Meadowview branch. She is responsible for the sales, customer service, and daily operations for the branch. Andrea has been a member of WIN for four years and has held a seat on the executive committee for the last three years. She serves the committee by monitoring the finances and offering input on topics and events relative to the group and community. Andrea is pleased to serve this community though First American Bank and WIN.
Jackie Bruhn is a Trust Officer at HomeStar Bank & Financial Services. She has been working in trust services for the past 13 years. Jackie received her Bachelor of Sciences in Business Management from Olivet Nazarene University and trust services accreditation from Cannon Financial Services. Prior to her career at HomeStar Bank, Jackie worked in the charitable foundation field and communications industry. Jackie has served on the Women In Networking board since its inception in 2011. Jackie enjoys spending her personal time giving back to her community through child outreach programs and her church.
Kay Jurica is the Owner and Operator of Home Helpers of Bourbonnais. She has been a WIN board Member for 1 ½ years. Kay’s hobbies include shopping for antiques and crocheting. She has a dog that goes with her every day to work and Kay’s passion is taking care of seniors.
Victoria Ruble has been on the WIN Board for one year. She is the Airport Manager of the Greater Kankakee Airport and has been involved in aviation for ten years. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Public Airports Association and a member of the American Association of Airport Executives. Victoria also serves her community as an active member of the Bradley Fire Department.
Christel Dennison works for Riverside Healthcare as the community liaison for the Senior Behavioral Health Unit. She has been a nurse for 18 years, with a focus on seniors for a majority of those years. She has been a WIN board member for 3 years. Christel is a member of the Senior Provider and Alzheimer Walk committees.
