Julie Phelps is an employee benefits consultant and account manager at CIBC of Illinois. In conjunction with her extensive work experience within the insurance industry, her time serving as president of the Central Athletic Booster Club, a chairperson on the Clifton Pool Committee and a council member of St. Peter’s Parish, and as a working mother of two children, she has over 20 years of professional and voluntary experience. Julie enjoys spending time with family and friends. She resides in Clifton with David, her husband of 25 years.
Mary Thomson, Volunteer Liaison at Hospice of Kankakee Valley; founding member of WIN; loves dancing, gardening, golf, music, photography, theatre, community volunteering, etc.; proud to be Athena recipient in 95, UW Woman of the year in 15; runner up to YES Magazine Woman of the Year in 15, Daily Journal Senior Citizen of the year in 13. Past careers include high school teacher, community college advisor, hospital sales/marketing/community/public relations/volunteer management and business banker/travel organizer for area bank.
JoAnne Keen along with her husband Mark, own and operate Frank’s Appliance Center & Sleepsource in Bradley and Manteno. JoAnne has been a part of the WIN committee since 2012. JoAnne states “My favorite hobby is traveling. If I’m not at a meeting hopefully it means I’m exploring a new destination.”
Melissa Tanner works at CSL Behring and has over 20 years experience in the Marketing/PR field. Melissa received the International Young Athena Award in 2009. She is also a board member for Kankakee Valley Theater Association and active in several community organizations. Melissa has been on the WIN committee for two years. She enjoys reading, traveling & spending time with her family.
Rhonda Olechowski is an Account Executive with CNG (Converging Networks Group Inc.), a premier technology business solutions provider where she sells, promotes and helps with the growth of the business. Prior to working at CNG Rhonda had been the Director of Business Development at the Daily Journal working in Display Advertising in downtown Kankakee working with customers to achieve their advertising goals. Rhonda also worked ten years with Bunge Oils and ten years in the banking industry. Rhonda is originally from Bay City, Michigan, and has lived in Bourbonnais for the last 28 years. In addition to her professional and family obligations, Rhonda has served on the original committee of the Women in Networking group since its inception. Rhonda is a member of the Kankakee County Republican Women, member of the Kankakee County Museum and Presence St Mary’s Auxiliary and attends St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. When Rhonda is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She resides in Bourbonnais with Kevin, her husband of 28 years.
Jackie Bruhn is a Trust Officer at HomeStar Bank & Financial Services. She has been working in trust services for the past 13 years. Jackie received her Bachelor of Sciences in Business Management from Olivet Nazarene University and trust services accreditation from Cannon Financial Services. Prior to her career at HomeStar Bank, Jackie worked in the charitable foundation field and communications industry. Jackie has served on the Women In Networking committee since its inception in 2011. Jackie enjoys spending her personal time giving back to her community through child outreach programs and her church.
Jennifer Draper is the Vice President of Compliance and Internal Controls at the State Bank of Herscher. Jen has 25 years of banking experience. Her roles through her career include compliance, audit, management, corporate training, human resources and consumer fraud. Jen is active in the Kankakee School District PTO and Booster club committees. She is active in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Half Paddy Festival planning committee. Jennifer and her husband Bill reside in Kankakee with their 4 children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, volunteering and music.
Sandi is the Kankakee County Circuit Clerk from 2010-Present. She was born in Boulder Colorado, then, at the age of two, her parents relocated to Kankakee County. She was an avid 4-H’er, competing in horse shows, and volunteering in many areas at the fairgrounds. Sandi began her civic calling when she was elected to many offices in 4-H, and completed her tenure of 4-H as President of the Kankakee County Federation. Sandi’s first career was that of a licensed Cosmetologist, and maintains that license today Sandi is active on many boards and committees such as Zonta Vice President Kankakee County Republican Women and Executive Board Member of Illinois Association of Court Clerks.
